Early this morning, there was an ice fog curled up and resting in the river valley. The sun had yet to rise but there was still a soft pink light that coated everything, including the fog. The world is such an amazingly beautiful place.

I've now enjoyed a pancake breakfast and am about to savour a hectic day of teaching and correcting and getting report card marks in for tomorrow.

Is ice fog the haze that was hanging over 99 St. this evening? I was wondering if the sawmill or whatever on 63 Ave. had smoked another blade or something. The faint odd smell may have been my imagination, or something carried in the exceptional humidity?

I didn't leave work until 9pm last night so I haven't a clue if it was ice fog or smog. I'm guessing that it was probably ice fog since there was so much of it this morning. I didn't smell any smoke last night.

Ice fog: Fog that is composed of minute ice particles. It occurs in very low temperatures under clear, calm conditions in the polar latitudes and may produce a halo around the sun or moon.

Freezing fog: Used to describe the phenomena when fog is present and the air temperature is below 0?C.

Fog: A visible aggregate of minute water droplets suspended in the atmosphere at or near the surface of the earth, reducing horizontal visibility to less than 5/8 statute miles.
