Plant an Orchard in Alberta?
Jun. 1st, 2008 08:51 pmI have talked with a few of you out there about the University of Saskatchewan's research into hardy, zone 2 fruit trees and bushes. In my search to see where you can buy the plants, though, all I could find was DNA Gardens which seemed a little far to travel just to buy a bush. There is actually a place just east of Sherwood Park by the Blackfoot that sells them, including the new "fruit of the future", the haskap aka edible honeysuckle aka honeyberry.
I definitely recommend visiting Shallow Creek Nurseries - knowledgeable, friendly, and good prices.
