May. 9th, 2004 09:48 amThe Great Human Race has come and gone. It was an awesome experience that I would happily involve myself in again. There were whole families there, people on stilts walking, young and old running, people walking their dogs, and then there was us with out 50 lbs backpacks on walking the 8km course.
We didn't see anyone else walking the 8km; the other walkers were doing the 3km course. We finished the course in about 1:40h with just one friend at the finish line cheering us on. I think we could have won the prize for the slowest "runners."
I'm feeling pretty good this morning. I've got obvious bruising around my hip bones but, otherwise, I'm feeling pretty chipper. Maybe I will be able to survive the 6 day hike this summer.
Next plan: Try to do a 5km run near the end of the summer.
