Jan. 6th, 2003 12:33 pmToday, we visited the floating village of Tonle Sap, which is Asia's largest lake. It floods every year during the rainy season when the water reverses direction in the Mekong, filling the lake and increasing its size by 4x.
This afternoon, we're taking it easy. Two days of temple exploring, including watching the sunrise and sunset at Angkor Wat, can wear one down.
Tomorrow, we catch a boat at 5:30am to go down to Phnom Penh. We have been warned to stay on top of the boat, despite being in the sun for 5 hours. The boats sometimes tip over, and if you are inside, it can be a death trap as there are not many exits.
