Comics were meant to be read and enjoyed, not collected... Operative term there is, of course, were... The industry has changed as all are wont to do; hockey (et al.) cards have evolved in the same way.
Is this a good thing? I don't care to comment. However, to say it's a bad thing because "that's not how it was meant to be," well, that's thumbing your nose at progress, isn't it?
